The Boot Camp is designed to support physicians as they make the leap from clinical expert to institutional, medical staff, or faculty leader.  Boot Camp learning objectives include:

• Orienting physicians to the health system organization and its often perplexing dynamics—i.e., who makes what decisions

• Exposing participants to basic health system economics and to the ways in which physician decisions impact performance—i.e., how cash flows and why

• Demonstrating the benefits of collaboration and how to manage and navigate groups effectively to achieve optimal results—i.e., setting agendas, working with interdisciplinary groups, and managing meeting time

• Heightening awareness of communication challenges and their impact—i.e., how perceptions impact results

• Framing and articulating an appropriate physician leadership agenda—i.e., goals and objectives for the first 100 days to manage talent, instill accountability, and elevate the practice standard
